    The DS18B20U+ is a digital thermometer or temperature sensor developed by Maxim Integrated. This sensor IC provides temperature reading in 9-bit to 12-bit format. The device features an alarm function with programmable upper and lower trigger points. In order to interface with the microcontroller, the DS18B20U+ requires only 1-wire single communication line. The IC is also capable of deriving power from the communication line which eliminates the need for an external power supply. With each IC having a unique 64-bit serial code, multiple DS18B20U+ ICs can be connected to the same 1-wire bus. In this way, a single microprocessor can be used to control multiple sensors distributed over a large area. These sensors are particularly suitable for HVAC systems, smart homes, machine temperature monitoring, and industrial control applications.
