What is TPS54302DDCR?
The TPS54302 is a synchronous buck converter with input voltage range of 4.5V to 28V and Maximum current capacity of 3A buck converter (step–down converter) is a DC-to-DC power converter which steps down voltage (while stepping up current) from its input (supply) to its output (load). The TPS54302 features two integrated switching FETs. It operates at high frequency of 400 kHz. It has advanced eco-mode which maximizes the light load efficiency and reduces the power loss. It has also inbuilt overcurrent protection.

WHERE TO USE TPS54302DDCR?
TPS54302DDCR can be operated with the input voltage of 4.5V to 28V and provide regulated voltage (V0 < Vin) at the output side. Regulated DC Voltages are required in many DC low power household and industrial applications. DC appliances are generally designed for 12V and 24V. As the maximum current capacity of this IC is 3A, any device operating at 12 V/ 24 V with power rating up to 36 W / 72 W can be operated with TPS54302DDCR.
How TPS54302DDCR work?
The device is a 28-V, 3-A, synchronous step-down (buck) converter with two integrated n-channel MOSFETs. The application of TPS54302 as a step-down converter for 28 V to 5 V is shown in Fig.3. The TPS54302 is operate at constant frequency of 400 kHz. Output is regulated by controlling the value of voltage divider resistor connected to the FB pin.
