* Question
What is the format of the instruction? |
* Answer
There are four formats for instructions: general format, fast format, short format, and zero format.The number of bytes of the instruction is related to the selected instruction format. The zero format of the instruction uses the least number of bytes, and is sequentially increased in the zero format, short format, fast format, and general format.The operation code of this format consists of 2 bytes and contains the addressing mode information of the operation information, source operand (src) and destination operand (dest).The instruction code consists of an operation code (2 bytes), a source operand (0–.3 bytes), and a destination operand (0—3 bytes).
(2) Quick format (: Q).The instruction code consists of an operation code (2 bytes, including immediate data) and a destination operand (0 to 2 bytes).(3) Short format (:S).The short format operation code consists of 1 byte and contains the addressing information of the operation information, the source operand, and the destination operand.The zero format operation code consists of 1 byte and contains information on the operation information, immediate and destination operand addressing modes.Note, however, that the immediate value is fixed at 0 and the available addressing modes are limited.The instruction code includes an operation code (1 byte) and a destination operand (0 to 2 bytes). |
