What is LXDC2HL18A-052？
The LXDC2HL18A–052 is a low power step-down DC-DC converter. It used to converter DC Voltage (5.5 V MAX) to the lower output voltage. Its compact size and inbuilt EMI rejection feature makes it suitable for space-limited or noise-sensitive applications. The LXDC2HL18A-052 utilizes an inductor-embedded ferrite substrate that reduces radiated EMI noise and conduction noise.
The LXDC2HL18A-052 works in two different mode according to the loading condition：
- Pulse-Frequency Modulation (PFM) mode at light load for extended battery life.
- pulse-width modulation(PWM) mode at heavy load to maintains high efficiency using synchronous rectifying technology.

WHERE TO USE LXDC2HL18A-052?
Any compact device where downsizing and light weight are prime concern, LXDC2HL18A can be used as regulated DC power source. Camera, Cellular Phones, Portable Music Player and Game Consoles are battery operated and required regulated DC voltage for the internal circuit operation. LXDC2HL18A can be used as a DC regulator.
How LXDC2HL18A-052 work?

As shown in Fig.3 LXDC2HL18A-052 DC/DC step down IC can be used to step down the input voltage. As shown in Figure 1V is provided to ENABLE pin of LXDC2HL by turning on series connected switch. Input capacitor of 4.7µF is connected to provide ripple free input to the input pin Vin of LXDC2HL18A. Output capacitor of 10µF is connected as a filter. Input voltage in the range of 2.3 V to 5.5 V can be provided to LXDC2HL18A. Output voltage is always lesser than input voltage as IC LXDC2HL is step down DC/DC converter.
