The bipolar stepper motor driver is capable of driving the motors in full, half, quarter, 8th and 16th step modes. The device exhibits a drive capacity of 35V and 2A. The device also features a fixed off-time current regulator which is able to operate in slow or mixed decay modes. By eliminating the need for phase sequence tables, high frequency control lines and complex interfaces, this driver implements a very simple control interface. This driver IC is ideal for applications where a power processor is not available. The mixed decay mode of the device results in reduced noise, increased accuracy, and reduced power dissipation.
